MODUS was founded in 2006. by medical students of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek. The main idea was creating a productive student community with the aim of promoting mutual interests, international cooperation and fun. The main activity of MODUS is publishing the magazine GMO as the publication of medical students in Osijek. The magazine is being issued twice a year in 2000 copies and is handed around the faculty, free of charge. It deals with medical issues, sports, fun, culture, student problems etc. The editor in chief of GMO is Ivan Štefanac, 4th year student, who is also the founder and chairman of MODUS.
In a short time, the association has grown to number of 90 members. We've organized a lot of actions, including MODUS party, action 'Hypertension', lectures on different types of addiction, trip to Vienna, mass study help, cooperation with Caritas and Red Cross, congress of biomedical magazines editors from southeast Europe, etc.
Some of our plans for future are international meetings with themes of medicine, students exchange, cooperation with other medical and student associations. The international secretary, Dražen Keserica, is responsible for the international cooperation. The MODUS association is opened for every kindof cooperation thus we invite all the interested to contact us via mail.
